Emory Alzheimer's Disease Research Center

Emory’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center is the only comprehensive care clinic for Alzheimer’s disease and related memory disorders in Georgia.  We are one of just 27 Alzheimer’s Disease Research Centers (ADRC) in the country as designated by the National Institutes of Health. Everything we do is patient-centered to provide a compassionate and collaborative approach to early diagnosis, treatment and state-of-the-art care.

Our innovative research and comprehensive services act as a catalyst to improve the whole health of our patients. Our team of more than 300 expert researchers and health care professionals are specially trained in the latest clinical technology to coordinate your care.

At the heart of the only comprehensive care program in Georgia is our research. Groundbreaking science provides patients with the opportunity to take advantage of the latest development of new prevention strategies and diagnostic procedures. In our unique environment, the doctors who treat you also conduct innovative research around the disease.  Because our research doctors regularly see patients and families in the clinics, they understand your needs, fears and concerns.

A hallmark of our success is the Registry for Remembrance - a unique community and academic partnership that strives to educate and recruit African Americans for long term research participation at the ADRC.  "Both African Americans and Hispanics are more likely than whites to develop Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias in their lifetime, but they are less likely to be properly diagnosed,” says Monica Parker, MD, assistant professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology at Emory University. "Through this Registry, we hope to empower our aging population with tools that increase their self-management behavior."
